Today, July 11, is All American Pet Photo Day, so here’s a picture of my 17 year old cat who passed a few weeks ago. Feel free to comment below with a picture of your pet. My cat was sick for a few months, and the decision to euthanize her was a difficult one. But I was advised that surgery would be risky for a senior cat, and that it may not even help her. Another decision that I researched very carefully, and gave a lot of thought to, was to donate her body to the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, part of Tufts University, off Cape in Grafton, MA. Throughout her life, she had so many caring and qualified vets take care of her. I wanted to honor her in a way that would benefit future veterinarians as well as other cats.
