Pet Of The Week...Duke

Meet Duke!

Duke is a one-and-a-half year old male lab mix looking for his new home.

Duke started out at the ARL in Brewster as a very young pup after coming up from the south. He was then placed in a home where he got lots of foundational training and was able to acclimate to the new environment up here in New England. He came back to us because his owner had to move and was heartbroken at the fact that she couldn't bring Duke with her.

We have been taking great care of Duke while in our care - he meets lots and lots of new people, plays with lots of other dogs, sometimes takes a dip in the kiddie pool but most of all he is thoroughly enjoying our amazing staff and volunteers! We love him too, but we would much prefer sharing the wealth of Duke and see him find his forever home!

Duke has a moderate energy level: he's a great hiker, would be a great running companion for someone but can also chill out as a couch buddy on a rainy day. A home with a fenced in yard would be ideal - since he loves to run and play with all the toys. And we can't forget to mention the belly rubs that he loves!

The Animal Rescue League of Boston’s Brewster Animal Care and Adoption Center is located at 3981 Main St. (Route 6A) in Brewster, and can be reached at 617-426-9170 x305. ARL is closed Mondays, open by appointment-only on Tuesdays, and open to the general public Wednesday-Sunday from 1-6 p.m.
