Officials in the towns of Orleans and Eastham say the entirety of Nauset Estuary is closed to shellfishing due to Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning, also known as Red Tide.

The Division of Marine Fisheries says digging, harvesting, collecting or possession of shellfish - including carnivorous snails - is prohibited in several areas including Nauset Marsh,

Town Cove and Salt Pond. Authorities say those locations will remain closed until further notice.
