The Town of Barnstable is wishing Pearl Harbor survivor Freeman Johnson a happy 105th birthday.
Mr. Johnson was aboard the USS St. Louis which was being repaired during the 1941 attack, and he worked to reassemble the boiler as the bombs fell.
The St. Louis was later nick-named the Lucky Lou because it was able to escape the harbor unscathed.
State Representative Steve Xiarhos posted a message for Freeman on Tuesday, thanking him for his service and wishing him a wonderful 105th -and many more.
The Centerville resident is one of the last known Pearl Harbor survivors in Massachusetts.
