State Wants Air Quality Report From Pilgram Nuclear

The state has called on the owner of Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station to provide an analysis of potential air pollution from ongoing water evaporation.

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection wants owner Holtec International to provide data on airborne pollution from contaminants found during testing last spring.

This showed levels of P-Fas chemicals, metals, and organic compounds.

Holtec is seeking a permit to discharge about one million gallons of treated radioactive water into Cape Cod Bay, which is meeting opposition from environmental groups.
