Sewere Line Collapse May Spark Faster Replacement

A collapsed sewer line in Chatham last week is likely to speed up its replacement.

The Cape Cod Chronicle reports the incident caused a section of Main Street to be closed last Wednesday through Friday.

Chatham officials were aware of the poor condition of the 50-year-old sewer line, but they said the replacement project was pushed back by the coronavirus pandemic.
