Cystic Fibrosis is a life threatening genetic disease that ravages the lungs and digestive track with life expectancy in the 30’s, 40’s and beyond. There are more than 30,000 people in the US with cystic fibrosis and 10 Million people in the US who are symptomless carriers.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has 70 chapters nationwide who raise funds for research, patient care and support. Funds are raised through events such as Great Strides Walk-a-thons held in May and the Cycle for Life Ride, taking place on Saturday, September 16 at Westport Rivers Vineyard and Winery – there is a 23 and 62-mile route. Rider Check-In 8:00 AM – there is breakfast, lunch, medal ceremony, music and more. Fundraising requirement $250. You can ride alone or form a team of 4 riders or more.
