The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster presents A Forest Bathing Meditation Walk as a Writing Retreat with CCMNH Field Guide Carol Marcy Tuesday, July 8 from 12:30pm-3:30pm - Rain date: July 9
Channel the creativity inspired by immersive nature meditations into writing. You will be guided to help calm your mind, deepen your breath, bathe in the magnificence of pine-scented air, hear the songs of birds, notice the thousand shades of green, and feel the gentle breeze singing through the trees and caressing your skin. These experiences will open your heart to the heart of the Earth and the infinite reach of Sky and Sun. As you begin to feel woven into the web of life, dancing with all of creation, you will be inspired to write. Gather the stories of trees, the secret whispers of insects, and the choreography of the wind dancing through the marsh grasses.
At various points on the walk, pause for a quiet meditation and/or a chance to write. At the end, there will be time to capture this creative spirit by weaving your experiences into verse, song, poem, or whatever form feels right to you. No prior writing experience is necessary. If people wish, there will be time to share what has been written.
Please bring water and writing materials. A hard-backed journal works very well. No cameras. The retreat will start on time, so please don’t be late.
Carol Marcy has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, a Masters in Dance/Movement Therapy and is a certified Meditation teacher.
The walk is about 1.5 miles over somewhat challenging terrain. The walk moves slowly, stopping periodically.
