Provincetown's Carnival Parade May Be Cancelled Again

Provincetown's signature carnival parade is in danger of not taking place for a second year in a row.

The Banner reports the p-town business guild has applied to hold a modified "walking" parade, but so far it has not gotten the OK from the select board.

Provincetown Police Chief Jim Golden said the traditional vehicle parade was discouraged this year because it would promote large groups of people clustering together, but he said he also had safety concerns about the walking carnival.

The event is normally held in August.
