Oyster Theft Causes Setback In Sandwich

An oyster harvest in Sandwich may be nixed this year because of a theft. The town's natural resources director says more than four-thousand immature oysters were recently stolen from growing beds in Mill Creek. Officials are warning that the oysters, if eaten, could make someone very sick because of the summertime uncleanliness of the shellfish. Sandwich's aquaculture program has been going on for about a decade, and its first oyster harvest was last year.
