Multi-State Involvement In Jassy Correia Death Case

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — From Boston to Delaware, multiple law enforcement agencies are working the Jassy Correia case.

Rhode Island authorities are waiting for Louis Coleman III to be brought back to their state from Delaware where he was captured Thursday.

WBZ NewsRadio’s Laurie Kirby spoke with WPRI-TV’s chief investigative reporter Tim White who says evidence has already been seized in Providence where Coleman lived

Sources say that:

  • -Surveillance video shows a woman believed to be Correia enter Coleman’s Providence apartment but not on her own power. He says that it is uncertain if she was unconscious or lifeless.
  • -Coleman was later seen leaving the apartment with two suitcases. Correia was never seen leaving the building and investigators did find her during their search of the apartment.
  • -Management from the Venu Nightclub, where Correia and Coleman were last seen, immediately helped investigators with evidence by providing surveillance video and a copy of Lewis Coleman’s driver’s license.
  • -White says investigators are combing different stores to find out where Coleman may have bought products he may have used in the crime.

While the case is complicated and spread throughout multiple states, Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins said Friday that law enforcement agrees that, if possible, the case belongs in Boston either in Suffolk County or in the U.S. District Court.

Rollins says Correia was part of the Boston area community, and the community deserves to see justice done here.

Listen below to WPRI-TV investigative reporter Tim White explain the mechanics of the case.
