Watch the Lyric Video for Gregg Allman's Song 'My Only True Friend'

The late Gregg Allman's management has released a new lyric video for his song "My Only True Friend" from his forthcoming final album, Southern Blood.

The video features the song's lyrics flashing across photos of Allman, as well as the singer's beloved home state of Georgia.

Allman finished recording the album shortly before he passed away in May at the age of 69.

The southern rock legend appears to be contemplating his mortality with lyrics like, "I hope you're haunted by the music of my soul / When I'm gone, please don't fly away / And find you a new love / I can't face living this life alone / I can't bear to think that this might be the end."

The song's producer, Don Was, tells Rolling Stone the song was Gregg's "attempt to contextualize the course of his life," and that it was actually written from the perspective of his late-brother Duane Allman.

Southern Blood is due out September 8.
